Our Mission
The noble mission of the Jivitadana Sangha Hospital since its establishment is to provide medical treatment to the sick irrespective of nationality, race, sex, religion, social status wealth or poverty. It is a non profit, non government humanitarian organization dependent on generous donations of the well wishers.

Blood donation ceremonies have been celebrated annually, in which (193 member of the order of the Sangha, (144) nuns, and (1062) laypersons, totaling (1399) persons had taken part for the eighth time, in 2009.
This year also, the ninth annual Buddhist Lent Blood donation ceremony will be held on the 14th August 2010, starting from 8:00 A.M at the Auspicious Ceremonial Hall in the Hospital Compound.
Well wishers, who wish to participate in donating their blood, are requested to contact the following numbers, not later than 16:00 hrs August 12th 2010, for advanced registration.

JSH Eye Centre now providing modern treatment for Eye
patients.
- The JSH is a
General Hospital providing treatment and care for general ailments and also in
(19) different specialized areas.
-
The JSH can now
provide modern and updated eye care and treatment for patients suffering from
various kinds of eye diseases such as cataract, glaucoma etc.
- Monks (members of the order of Sanghas), and nuns are eligible for free treatments out of donation funds.
- Lay persons are also eligible for treatment on payment of medicine and optical aid at minimum cost.
- The specialists both retired and still in service provide treatment for the eye patients. Many are consultant specialists with internationally recognized post- graduate degrees, admitted to membership and fellowship of the well known foreign eye institutions of the developed world, and with years of proven knowledge and experience. All offered their services free of change on daily roster of the eye department In-patient and Out-patient centers. The out patient department which is opened from Monday to Saturday daily, deals with minor eye ailments.
- Patients needing more intensive treatment including surgery are treated in the sterilized operation theatres on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays every week.
- The patients are
also fitted with IOLs.

- The average monthly surgical cases are between(180-200).
- The poor and needy lay persons are also treated, complete with surgery, fitting IOL’s FREE OF CHARGE, depending upon the following conditions.
If a lay person is known to be
(a) without dependable income, he/she must have the endorsements from Quarters or Township councils, must also be proven to have been
(b) in need of eye treatment by our specialists, that he/she cannot see within five feet.
Then, the lay person is entitled to eye treatment ABSOIUTELY FREE OF CHARGE INCLUDING IOL.
That is the noble social services rendered by our JSH borne out donations by the well wishing people of Myanmar.
