on 23rd.July 2009.
The Jivitadana Sangha Hospital is solely dependent on the donations recieved in cash and kind from its donors both at home and abroad. It also depends greatly on the charity and dedication of the doctors and management committee members who are giving their services voluntarily and without remuneration.
To facilitate the donors, both donations in cash and kind are accepted daily from 8:30 am to 4:00 p.m throughout the year without any break.
The management committee members take it in turns to meet each donor, accept the donation formally, have the photographs of the occasion taken by digital camera and present them to the donor within a short time. For those donors wishing to perform a libation ceremony after the a bove formalities, a special arrangement has been made with a monk to oversee this ceremony.
Donations received daily in cash and kind are systematically recorded in the books of the hospital. Cash recieved is deposited the next day in the current and savings accounts maintained at various banks, while surplus funds are invested in Government Savings Certificates.
Our accounts are audited every three months by a firm of certified public Accountants and our Annual Accounts and Reports along with the Auditor Certificate are presented to the Annual General Meeting of the member for confirmation.
The Honorary Treasurer presents his Financial Report at every bi-monthly Executive committee meeting and also at the monthly Management Committee meeting for confirmation and approval.
In addition to our local donors we occasionally recieve donations both in cash and kind from expatriate Myanmar citizens living abroad when they visit us or through their local contacts. We also recieve such donations from citizens of other Buddhist countries during their trips to Myanmar for business or pleasure. We also sometimes recieve such donations from non-governmental organizations based in Myanmar or abroad.
